With the loss of General Motors and several other important manufacturers, the City of Janesville's new Economic Development Director will have his work cut out for him.

Vic Grassman, who started on the job Monday, is no stranger to Wisconsin. Even though he comes from a job working for the City of Denver, he previously worked for the State of Wisconsin Department of Commerce as the Director of Business Development, and the UW-Whitewater Small Business Development Center as the Program Manager. He will be replacing 21-year veteran Doug Venable, who's retiring.

Venable will be around to show Grassman the ropes until the end of the month.
