Milton High’s football team sent out an emphatic message Friday night that it isn’t finished yet in defense of its Badger South championship.

The Red Hawks can only tie for a repeat title, but they remained very much alive with a 31-7 blowout of visiting Madfison Edgewood in a battle of once-beaten conference teams.

While unbeaten Monona Grove (7-0, 5-0) clinched a tie for the championship, Milton remained in a second-place tie with Oregon at 3-1 with two games left on the Red Hawks’ conference schedule.

Nick Meyers scored two touchdowns, and Alec Vicenzi rushed for 94 of Milton’s 240 yards on the ground to lead the Red Hawks’ offensive domination. Meanwhile, the Milton defense held Edgewood to 21 yards rushing and 52 passing.
