Kyle Poplar scored on a 13-yard run in overtime to lift Lake Geneva Badger over Burlington, 20-14, in Southern Lakes football Friday night.


The victory kept Badger High (6-1, 4-1) in second place, a game behind Waterford (7-0, 5-0). The Badgers also clinched a WIAA playoff berth, while the Demons (3-4, 2-3) dropped to a fourth-place tie in the conference.

Wilmot 31, Delavan-Darien 28 (OT)—Landon Tenhagen’s 36-yard field goal on Wilmot’s first possession in overtime proved to be the difference in a Southern Lakes thriller agains the visiting Comets.


Zach Neiger scored three touchdowns on runs of 4, 47 and 5 yards for Delavan-Darien (3-4, 2-3). His two fourth-quarter scores forced the overtime, and he finished with 177 yards on 20 carries.


Two of Wilmot’s touchdowns came on interception returns. Tenhagen brought one back 26 yards in the second quarter, and Robert Faber had a 69-yard return in the third quarter.


Wilmot’s Tyler Rowland ran for 157 yards on 27 carries.
