New and renovated Janesville city facilities could be required to include "green" components in the design.

Management analyst Al Hulick says the resolution being crafted by the Sustainable Janesville Committee would be ready for city council review before the end of the year.

He says the resolution would require consideration of energy and water efficient fixtures, diverting items from the landfill, and including sustainable fixtures in the facility.
