— Janesville Craig’s girls volleyball team wrapped up the dual-meet portion of its Big Eight Conference schedule with a 3-0 loss to Verona here Thursday night.

The Wildcats won by scores of 25-12, 25-13, 25-13, and impressed Craig High coach Blake Budrow.

“We just couldn’t handle their serves,” Budrow said. “And they have a lot of weapons on offense.

“Our blocking was good up front, but we just didn’t create enough offensively.”

The Cougars finished 3-6 in dual meets, while the Wildcats were 7-2.

The Big Eight will hold its conference tournament on Saturday, Oct. 17 at Madison Memorial.
