The Big Eight Conference volleyball season has turned into a broken record for Janesville Parker.

The Vikings continue to come close but can’t get back into the win column in the Big Eight Conference.

Tuesday night in the Parker gym, Madison Memorial won a fifth and deciding game, 15-12, to earn a 3-2 conference victory.

Parker (1-7 in the Big Eight) led 2-1 before the Spartans won the final two games.

“We’re getting better and we played pretty well against a decent team, but we just weren’t able to beat them,” Parker coach Dave Lehmann. “Our won/loss record might not show it, but we really are getting better.”

Lehmann praised the play of Katie Godding up front, and the defense of Lindsey Hoff and Erika Whitson.

Parker is at state-ranked and Big Eight leader Middleton on Thursday.
