The YWCA of Rock County commemorates victims and survivors of domestic violence at a vigil Wednesday.

YWCA Advocate Jane McCauley says a table will be set for five, to honor those killed by domestic violence in the past year. Survivors also plan to offer testimony and take part in traditional rituals that signify healing.

The event starts at 5:30 at Courthouse Park in Janesville.

I would like to commend the Gazette for covering the Candle Light Vigil that was held last night. Not only did they cover the issue of domestic violence the day before the event, they also covered the event itself with front page coverage. By covering this event the Gazette got the word out about how prevalent this problem is. It is not in the back ground. It is out in the open where it belongs. Thanks for the coverage !!
