Janesville Craig’s volleyball team played with state-rated Lakeside Lutheran for two games in Thursday’s nonconference match but could not overtake the Warriors.

Lakeside won 25-15 and 25-23 in first two games before pulling away for a 25-10 win in Game 3 and a 3-0 victory.

“I was pleased with the way we played the first two games,” Craig coach Blake Budrow said. “But Lakeside has a really nice team that passes the ball exceptionally well. That was the difference.

“Amber Bovenmyer and Michelle Straw played well at the net for us, but we just couldn’t overcome their attack.”

Craig High host a six-team invitational on Saturday that includes Janesville Parker, Orfordville Parkview, Delavan-Darien, Ithaca and Westosha Central.
