Jets fall in shootout

— The Janesville Jets battled back from a 2-0 deficit but could not turn the corner on the Motor City Metal Jackets and lost 3-2 in a shootout in North American Hockey League play Saturday at the Janesville Ice Skating Center.

Motor City (9-8-4) led a 2-0 after the first period.

The Jets’ Derek Jacobson scored on the power play at 7 minutes, 16 seconds of the second period and Ethan Nauman tied it 2-2 on a goal at 11:38 of the third period.

Janesville (11-11) had two shots turned away in the overtime. Rui Encarnarcao scored the only goal in the shootout for the Jets.

The Jets travel to Wyandotte, Mich. to open a three-game series against Motor City on Thursday, Dec. 3.
