The Janesville City Council is set to discuss the liquor license for Sneaker's Sports Bar and Grill, proposed for 1221 Woodman Road.

The owners and developers of the establishment are trying to appease neighbors who spoke against the project at a recent city council hearing. After hearing from neighbors, the council voted 3-3-0 on the approval for the liquor license, resulting in its denial. Now it's back before the council after another neighborhood meeting. The issues for the neighbors remain the traffic and noise associated with the proposed bar, and also potential disruptive behavior. One of the operators reassured residents at that meeting that she intends run a "respectable and well-mannered business." The council is expected to decide for themselves Monday.
