Buccaneers’ poor first-half shooting leads to loss

— Beloit College fell in a hole and could not climb out in a 66-53 loss to Augustana in nonconference menís basketball here Wednesday.

The Buccaneers (0-2) trailed 34-17 at the half. Beloit made just 6 of 25 shots (24 percent) from the field in the first half.


Travis Towns, an Edgerton High School graduate, scored 16 points for Beloit, while teammate David Bremner added 12. Derek Carrier, an Edgerton graduate, finished with four points.
