A local state representative puts jobs at the top of the legislature's agenda.

When the state legislature returns to session in January, Representative Chuck Benedict of Beloit tells WCLO's Stan Milam Show jobs will need to be the number one, two, and three issue. The Democrat is very supportive of Assembly Speaker Mike Sheridan's proposal to bring business leaders together for Wisconsin's Partnership for a Stronger Economy. Benedict is pleased to see business leaders in the Janesville and Beloit area working together on job creation, like the new program intended to promote entrepreneurial development.

Benedict is eager to promote job growth in part because of the economic need of the area, but also as a physician, he'd like to champion some health issues. He says that'll be difficult unless people can get back to work.
