WCLO's Steve Benton reports on this year's Veterans Day ceremony at Janesville's Traxler Park

RSS

— The sun was a welcome sight for over 200 people who gathered Wednesday morning in Janesville's Traxler Park for the annual Veterans Day Ceremony.

Veterans, their families, and local patriots listened to speakers, strolled down the medal of honor walkway at Veterans Plaza, and viewed the displays of American flags and battlefield crosses.

The featured speaker was Rock County Veterans Services Officer, John Solis Jr. He talked about the sacrifices veterans make during and after military conflicts. Vietnam veteran R.K.Mitby read service related poems, there was a flag folding ceremony and descriptions were given of the various flags that have flown over America since the founding of this country.
