Illinois forward commits to Badgers
MADISON The University of Wisconsin men’s basketball program apparently has filled the vacancy left by Vander Blue’s choice to attend Marquette.
Duje Dukan, a 6-8 senior forward from Deerfield, Ill., announced Tuesday he will accept that Wisconsin scholarship and was expected to sign a national letter of intent today.
Blue, now a senior Madison Memorial High School, previously had verbally committed to Wisconsin. Although he de-committed last June, the UW held the scholarship for him, but he announced last month that he has chosen Marquette.
Dukan averaged 18 points and nine rebounds and shot better than 45 percent from three-point range for Deerfield High School last season.
Dukan said he chose Wisconsin over Arizona State, New Mexico and George Washington.
