Walworth County drug unit has a busy day

— Tuesday was a busy day for members of the Walworth County Drug Enforcement Unit.

The group, along with the Lake Geneva Police Department and seven other law enforcement units, executed four search warrants, arrested 11 people on drug charges and seized five grams of heroin, nine marijuana plants, cut marijuana, nearly $3,000 in cash, a 1995 Nissan Sentra and a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer.


Sgt. Jeff Patek of the drug enforcement unit described it as a “larger than usual” drug bust for the Lake Geneva area.


“For a community the size of Lake Geneva, it’s significant,” Patek said.


The investigation focused on suspected heroin and cocaine dealers, and along the way it picked up marijuana dealers and growers.


Search warrants were executed and arrests made at the residences of


-- Marcus A. Fernandez, 20, 1271 Wisconsin St., Apt. B, Lake Geneva. Fernandez was arrested on a warrant charging him with delivery of heroin, three counts. Charges will be forwarded for possession of drug paraphernalia, as well. The Sentra was seized at this home.


-- Francisco J. Serna, 27, of 1157 S. Wells St., Lake Geneva, who was arrested on a warrant charging him with of delivery of cocaine, three counts.


-- Javier B. Villegas, 21, 225 Darwin St., Lake Geneva, who was arrested on a warrant changing him with a party to delivery of cocaine, three counts. The Trailblazer was seized at this address.


-- Eduardo Aranda, 23, 406 Wells St., Lake Geneva, who was arrested on a warrant charging him with of delivery of cocaine, four counts. Police also seized $1,800 at this address.


Also arrested on warrants were:


-- Erick F. Alfaro, 21, N3347 Juniper Road, Lake Geneva, on a charge of delivery of heroin.


-- Justin T. Peters, 17, 1019 Pleasant St., Lake Geneva, on a charge of manufacturing marijuana. Earlier in the investigation, police executed a search warrant at Peter’s residence and seized drug paraphernalia and a marijuana plant.


-- Karl Garcia, 22, 1306 Park Row, Lake Geneva, on charges of delivery of marijuana, three counts, and possession with intent to deliver marijuana. Seized were about three grams of marijuana and $930 in cash.


-- Richard W. Miller II, 19, 130 S. 7th St., Delavan, on charges of delivery of marijuana, two counts.


-- Nathan M. Etheridge, 18, 1019 Dorwood Drive, Lake Geneva, on charges of delivery of marijuana, two counts.


-- Joseph L. Decaro, 20, N1473 Jade Lane, Lake Geneva, on charges of delivery of marijuana, two counts.


-- Bradley K. Skipper, 39, 1821 Conant St., Lake Geneva, on charges of delivery of cocaine, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and manufacturing marijuana.


Earlier in the investigation, police executed search warrants and arrested


-- Omar Cruz Villanueva, 19, 501 Sue Ann Drive, Lake Geneva, on a warrant charging him with possession with intent to deliver cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.


Also arrested at the Sue Drive residence was Eliazer Ramierez-Roque, 21, on a warrant charging him with possession of cocaine with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police also seized 7.7 grams of cocaine and $958.72.


-- Catherine D. Borzym, 51, 1012 Lake Geneva Blvd., Lake Geneva. Charges were forwarded for possession of drug paraphernalia and manufacturing marijuana.


-- Flavio G. Perez, 20, 3169 W. Berry Drive, Lake Geneva, on charges of delivery of cocaine, three counts, and felony bail jumping, three counts.
