Two-hour standoff ends peacefully
EVANSVILLE A two-hour standoff ended peacefully Wednesday morning after the suspect surrendered to police.
Police responded at 10:42 a.m. to the 100 block of Walker Street, Evansville, for a report of an upset man in his home with access to weapons.
Rock County Communications dispatchers kept the man on the phone for an hour and a half to two hours before convincing him to come out with the help of a relative, said Scott McElroy, Evansville police chief.
A SWAT team was called, but the man surrendered before it deployed, McElroy said.
The man was taken into custody, and possible charges are pending, McElroy said.

Sad to hear these things. I hope this man gets help, he sounds like a lost soul.
