RSS

A police stand-off in Evansville ends peacefully.

Police Chief Scott McElroy says the call came in at 10:42 Wednesday morning about an emotionally upset man in a home on Walker Street with access to weapons. McElroy says police, with the help of 9-1-1 dispatchers and a relative, talked to the man by phone for about two hours. He eventually surrendered without incident.

He was taken into custody, and McElroy says charges are being considered.
