Police are no longer looking for a dog that bit a woman Monday morning in Prairie Knoll Park, 2701 S. Oakhill Ave.

The owner called this morning and said he has the dog, so the incident has been resolved, said Sgt. Charles Aagaard.

Police also issued a bite order, Aagaard said. This gives the owner and the Rock County Health Department direction as to what they have to do to make sure the dog doesn't have rabies.

Both the owner of the dog and the woman who was bitten were visiting Paw Print Park, which is located in Prairie Knoll Park, according to police.

I give credit to the dog's owner for stepping forward; that doesn't always happen.

We had to give up going to Paw Print - great park in theory but too many aggressive dogs with passive owners (bad combination) started showing up. Typically there would be a young man with a Rott that would show up with his buds and just let his dog raise havoc. It got so it just wasn't worth it anymore. I'm glad this dog was found.
