JANESVILLE — Police arrested seven juveniles and nine adults in connection with a gang-related dispute over the weekend.

At 9:13 p.m. Sunday, Janesville Police responded to the report of a fight in 400 block of Johnson Street, across from Fourth Ward Park.

The fight was the "end result of several days worth of rival gang-related activity," according to police reports.

On Saturday night, police responded to a report of fight in the same area, but when they arrived, both the suspects and the victim had left, said Deputy Chief Steve Kopp.

The Sunday incident appeared to be payback.

Vesal Kong, 21, of 314 S. Academy St., Janesville, was arrested on charges of felony bail jumping and disorderly conduct while armed. The weapon in question was a 6-inch meat cleaver. No one was reported injured.

Those referred to juvenile authorities for disorderly conduct include:

-- Three 16-year-old girls from Janesville.

-- Two 14-year-old boys from Janesville.

-- A 16-year-old boy from Milton.

-- A 14-old girl and a 15-year-old boy, both from Janesville

Adults arrested on charges of disorderly conduct include:

-- Skyler A. Dawson, 20, 2220 Forest Ave., Beloit.

-- Anthony W. Stuckey 19, 129 N. Pearl St., Janesville.
