Janesville troops deploy in Iraq

WCLO's Steve Benton reports on the deployment of fresh troops in Iraq.

ROCK COUNTY — Wisconsin National Guard troops from Janesville, are among the new units assigned to duties in Iraq.

Director of Public Affairs for the 32nd Infantry Brigade, Lt. Col. Tim Donovan, says he's headquartered in Baghdad, while other units are scattered around the country.

The troops from Wisconsin are playing a number of roles, including security and supplies. Donovan can't say where the Janesville troops are stationed yet, but he says once everything is settled down, he'll be able to send news items back to Wisconsin.

The deployment is scheduled to end in January.
