One of the main speakers at Janesville's Memorial Day ceremony will not be able to deliver his speech Monday.

Tom Stehura, president of the Janesville Patriotic Society, said Friday afternoon Colonel Andrew Poppas will not be attending the ceremony. He says Poppas apologizes, but cannot leave his base. Specific details are not available, but Stehura says Poppas is waiting for his commanding general to provide further information.

Poppas had been scheduled to speak on his experiences in Iraq and the importance of supporting American troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.
