Fort Wayne holds on
BELOIT A five-run eighth inning wasn’t enough to get Beloit past visiting Fort Wayne in Midwest League action Thursday night.
The Tin Caps built a 6-0 lead en route to a 7-5 victory over the Snappers. The teams conclude their four-game series with a 6:30 p.m. game today, before the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers come to Beloit for a three-game series starting at 6:30 Saturday night.
The Timber Rattlers are a Milwaukee Brewer Class A affiliate.
James Beresford, Jon Waltenbury, Ramon Santana and Drew Thompson each had two hits in Beloit’s 11-hit attack. Angel Morales and Santana each had two RBIs.
