— After surrendering 30 hits in two straight losses to the Peoria Chiefs, the Beloit Snappers turned the tables and pounded out 16 hits to defeat the visiting Fort Wayne Tin Caps 14-9 in Midwest League baseball Wednesday.

Beloit led 7-0 after three innings, but had to rally for four runs in the seventh to snap a 7-7 tie and take the lead for good, 11-7.

Snappers’ catcher Alexander Soto drove in five runs with a two-run home run in the third inning and a three-run poke in the eighth inning. Teammate Ramon Santana spanked a three-run homer in the first inning.

Beloit starter Michael Allen (1-5) allowed five runs on five hits in 5 2/3 innings to gain the victory. Allen walked three and posted seven strikeouts.
