The Rock County Sheriff's Office is pleased with the results of recent increased patrols in communitiies having high school proms.

Captain Jude Maurer says the enhanced patrols were intended to reduce traffic crashes, prevent underage alcohol consumption, and enforce traffic laws to help teenagers have a safe and fun prom experience. Maurer says five-dozen citations were issued for offenses ranging from drunk driving to speeding. He adds however, none of the more serious offenses involved teens attending proms. He says these results are very reassuring.

He's also pleased to report no injury or fatality accidents occured associated with prom events.

I guess we can have no story that isn't from the police's perspective. Could we hear about how PTA has dealt with this issue, about how parents have worked to make the prom fun and safe, about how teachers have done this, and finally about students and student organizations? In other words, quoting the police isn't the only way one can cover this story.
