— The Janesville Police Department is searching the office, cell phone and computer of a Milton police officer accused of inappropriately touching a 17-year-old woman.

Officer Jason W. Casper was put on paid administrative leave May 10 after a Janesville woman accused him of "unwanted sexual contact," according to an incident report from the Janesville Police Department.

Casper is accused of inappropriately touching the woman in fall 2008 and sending her sexually explicit text messages this month, according to a news release issued Tuesday by Milton Police Chief Jerry Schuetz. The woman was 17 in fall and is 18 now.

Officials have not said if she is or was a student in the Milton School District, where Casper serves as school resource officer.

Janesville police are executing warrants to search Casper's school office, work computer and department-purchased cell phone, the news release says.

The Milton Police Department has asked the Janesville Police Department to coordinate the criminal investigation. The Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigation is assisting with technical support and analysis, and the Rock County Sheriff's Office is conducting an internal employment investigation within the Milton department, the news release says.
