— The Beloit Snappers got out the heavy lumber Sunday afternoon at Pohlman Field.

Beloit banged out 14 hits, including a three-run home run from Angel Morales, in a 9-6 Midwest League win over the Peoria Chiefs.

The Chiefs took an early 2-0 lead on Mark Vitters’ two-run homer, but Beloit (14-21) took the lead for good with three in the bottom of the first and led 7-2 after three innings.

Daniel Osterbrock, despite allowing six earned runs, won his second straight decision to improve to 2-4. Danny Rondon pitched a scoreless ninth to record his first save of the season.

The two teams will play tonight at 6:30 at Pohlman Field.
