— Delavan-Darien High School’s girls soccer team dominated play in winning the Parker Invitational on Saturday.

The Comets went 3-0 in the tournament, including a 2-0 win over Sugar River in the championship game.

The host Vikings finished 1-2, but started the day with a 4-2 win over Cambridge/Deerfield. Catie O’Leary’s three goals lifted the Vikings to the win over the Bluejays.

“I think I expected us to do a little bit better than we did, and so did the girls,” Parker coach Amy Wargowsky said. “It seemed like we weren’t taking shots when we should have, and we didn’t clear the ball when we should have.

“Even though we lost twice, we were in both of those game until late in the second half. We hit the crossbar on a bunch of shots, but couldn’t get the ball in the net.”

Parker (7-9-2) will be at state-ranked Madison Memorial on Tuesday night in a Big Eight Conference game.
