Council to discuss ice rink proposal

— A group of hockey supporters will meet with council members to discuss a proposal to build a new ice rink at Tuesday's council meeting.

The group hopes to partner with the city and other ice rink users to build a $4 million rink.

The city's current aging facility needs more than $1 million in repairs in the next two years.

The council will meet at 7 p.m. on the fourth floor in City Hall, 18 N. Jackson St. A study session on code and building enforcement policies and procedures will precede the meeting at 5 p.m.

Other items on the agenda include:

-- A presentation by the Janesville Patriotic Society, which wants to move three monuments from the Corn Exchange Park downtown to Veterans Plaza at Traxler Park.
