Waunakee golfers control Meadows meet
WAUNAKEE Waunakee High School’s golfers stole the show in the tournament they hosted Thursday at the Meadows of Six Mile Creek.
Zach Gaugert shot a 1-under-par 71 in leading the Warriors to the team title with a 310 total. Gaugert also defeated Madison Edgewood’s Cody Strange in a playoff for the individual championship.
Matt Gorman, Waunakee’s No. 1 player, shot a 3-over-par 75 to finish third behind the co-leaders.
Janesville Craig settled for 10th place in the 12-team tournament with a 351. Greg Ruef led the Cougars with an 80.
