Craig collects two wins
JANESVILLE Janesville Craig High School defeated Janesville Parker and Sun Prairie in Big Eight Conference boys golf Wednesday at Riverside Park.
Craig posted a 321, Sun Prairie carded 343 and Parker registered a 356 team score.
Coach Mike Wesling thinks the Cougars are on a roll.
“The whole team is improving,” Wesling said. “321 is a good score for us this year.
“We won the (Beloit) Scramble and tied for first at the Tri City, we are getting a little hot here.’’
Craig’s Greg Ruef carded a 78 (38-40), for medalist honors. Ross Peterson fired an 80, Jim Leute followed with an 81 and Jeff Hesse carded an 82.
Craig, 4-2 in the Big Eight, will participate is the final regular-season league meet with Beloit Memorial, Madison West and Middleton at the Beloit Country Club next Monday.
