The Janesville School Board is trimming a net $422,816 from the school district's budget, including the district athletic director position.
The cuts are recommended by Superintendent Karen Schulte. They total $908,259. That amount is offset by a number of additions also recommended by Schulte. Four elementary library media specialists and a help desk tech will help the school district improve its IT operations. The positions were recommended in an audit conducted after a virus attacked district computers this school year.
Six custodian positions were not added as recommended, since the school board did not act on that addition and could review those positions at a later time.

No surprise here -- no cuts in the bloated administration. Why can't we institute some of the sharing of administrative positions that they are doing across the country?
