— Sun Prairie got off to a fast start and the Janesville Lacrosse Club never recovered, falling 11-1 to the Cardinals on Sunday.

Sun Prairie led 4-0 after the first quarter and 5-0 at halftime.

Janesville’s Aaron Turk scored off a feed from Darian St. Michael in the third quarter, but Sun Prairie scored three goals in the third and fourth quarters to pull away.

Sun Prairie won the junior varsity game, 13-6.

Janesville (4-4 Madison Area Lacrosse Association White decision, 6-7 overall) is off until Thursday when it travels to Fitchburg’s McGaw Park to take on the Regents, a team comprised of Madison West and Edgewood High School players. The varsity match is at 5 p.m. with the junior varsity match to follow at 6:30.

The final regular-season game is Saturday when Janesville hosts Waukesha at 1 p.m. at Optimist Park. There is no JV game that day.

The team will be hosting a fundraiser tonight at Fuddruckers in Janesville, 3136 Deerfield Dr. From 5-8 p.m. a portion of the restaurant’s sales will be donated to the club.
