Craig takes early lead in Tri-City
It looks like it’ll be a battle to finish for the top spot in the Tri-City Golf Championship.
Ross Peterson set the pace with a 5-over-par 35-41—76 on Thursday in leading Janesville Craig to a first-round edge at Glen Erin. Craig High shot a 327, but led by only two strokes over Beloit Memorial and four over Milton.
Janesville was incomplete with a three-man lineup in the four-team tournament.
Greg Ruef backed up Peterson with an 39-41—80 in helping give Craig its edge. Jordan Brockvick also had an 80 for Milton to share second place with Ruef in the battle for medalist honors.
The tournament concludes with 18 more holes today at Glen Erin.
