— After a short pursuit, deputies arrested a Janesville man accused of driving 102 mph on a county road south of Janesville early Tuesday morning.

Deputy Matthew Jacobson was driving north at 1:57 a.m. Tuesday on County G, just north of Blackhawk Technical College near Sunny Lane Road when he clocked a vehicle on radar at 102 mph, said Sgt. Curtis Fell.

Jacobson caught up with the car somewhere near Philhower Road and pursued it into the city of Beloit. The car stopped at Hart Road and Prairie Avenue, Fell said.

Ricardo Moreno Jr., 26, of 1121 Beloit Ave., Janesville, was arrested on charges of fleeing and third-offense drunken driving. He also was cited for operating after license suspension, driving left of center and speeding, Fell said.
