— Hard times continue for the Beloit Snappers.

The Great Lakes Loons scored four runs in the top of the fourth en route to a 6-5 Midwest Conference win over the Snappers on Sunday afternoon at Pohlman Field.

The loss was the seventh in the last nine games for the Snappers as they fell to 7-15 in the Western Division.

Beloit banged out 11 hits but struck out 11 times against four Great Lakes pitchers.

The Loons took the lead for good on Jaime Pedroza’s two-run homer in the third.

Jon Waltenbury homered for the second straight game as Beloit cut the lead to one in the eighth, but it could not rally in the ninth.

The two teams will wrap up Beloit’s six-game homestand with an 11 a.m. game today. The game has been designated as Snappy’s School Day.
