Twice as many students have enrolled at Blackhawk Technical College for summer courses this year compared to last.

BTC President Eric Larson says the increase is a result of a large number of displaced workers looking for retraining. Larson says classes in the health care field are showing the biggest growth.

He says additional, but temporary, staff have been hired to meet the demand.
