Sun Prairie drops Janesville lacrosse team to .500
JANESVILLE The Janesville Lacrosse Club fell short in a comeback attempt Friday night, falling to Sun Prairie, 11-8.
Sun Prairie jumped out to a 2-0 lead before Janesville’s Darian St. Michael scored late in the first period to narrow the gap. But Sun Prairie took advantage of Janesville penalties in the second period to lead 7-3 at halftime.
The third period was more of the same with Sun Prairie widening it’s advantge to 10-5 before Janesville started to rally.
Three fourth-quarter goals weren’t enough as Sun Prairie held on for the win.
St. Michael finished with three goals and three assists. Aaron Turk had four goals and an assist and Sean Davis had a goal. Taylor Haney had two assists, while Sean MacDougall and David Jacobson had one assist each.
The Sun Prairie JV defeated the Janesville JV 6-1.
Janesville (5-5 overall, 3-3 Madison Area Lacrosse Association White Division) is at Stoughton at 5 p.m. Monday.
