No goals for local teams
Madison Memorial stayed undefeated in Big Eight Conference girls soccer action, but Janesville Craig gave the Spartans a battle Thursday night.
The Cougars lost to visiting Memorial, 3-0, after falling behind, 2-0, in the first 27 minutes.
“Memorial is a good team,” Craig coach Bill McCabe said. “We figured out what they were doing and made some adjustments in the second half. Our girls have had trouble getting started early in the game.
“But they did respond. Memorial scores a lot of goals on a lot of teams. It was back-and-forth in the second half. We had some good goal-scoring opportunities.”
The Cougars play at Middleton on Tuesday.
