Morales, Bigley lift Beloit past Dayton
BELOIT Two key hits powered Beloit past visiting Dayton, 6-4, in Midwest League baseball Thursday night.
The Snappers used a two-run single by Angel Morales in the third inning and a two-run double by Evan Bigley in the fourth inning to improve to 7-12.
Morales went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and a run scored. He added his first homer of the season, a solo shot, in the seventh inning. Bigley was 2-for-3 with a run scored and two RBI.
Reliever Steve Blevins (2-2) earned the win. Matthew Williams earned his second save, pitching a hitless ninth.
The two teams play at 6 p.m. today, and at 2 p.m. Saturday at Telfer Park. The Snappers then play Great Lakes at home at 2 p.m. Sunday.
