Janesville wins lacrosse match
MADISON The Janesville Lacrosse Club moved above .500 with a 10-0 victory over Madison La Follette on Thursday.
Janesville controlled the game from the start.
Darian St. Michael scored less than a minute into the match on a feed from Matt Jones. Sean MacDougall added a goal less than two minutes later.
Janesville scored twice late in the period when defenseman Cody Jenson went the length of the field for goal with 1:01 remaining. Then, AJ Fredricks found the back of the net just 31 seconds later after taking a pass from Taylor Haney.
Janesville added three goals in each of the second and third periods.
St. Michael finished with two goals and two assists, Aaron Turk had two goals and an assist, Fredricks had two goals and MacDougall added an assist. Sean Davis and Nick Bower also scored for Janesville.
Janesville goalie Ryan Johnson had to make just four saves to earn the shutout.
The La Follette JV tipped the Janesville JV 6-5.
Janesville (5-4 overall, 3-2 Madison Area Lacrosse Association White Division) hosts Sun Prairie at 5 p.m. today at Optimist Park in Janesville.
