The Janesville School Board meets for a budget workshop session Tuesday night.

The challenge is to overcome a growing deficit. District Director of Business Services Doug Bunton says a discussion of additional revenue and alternative funding sources is planned. Possible options include increasing student enrollment fees, higher ticket prices, and allowing advertising in the schools. He says these are some of the solutions other districts are using.

The discussion is not expected to include a staffing plan, which may hinge on anticipated declines in student enrollment related to economic influences.

Our elected officials dont even know what a budget is, The state has a deficit, school board has a deficit, it never used to be that way, Govt only spent what it took in. They are so spoiled it is terriable.

more revenue equals more taxes unless the school board sells candy bars door to door to get some cash. i'm for that as long as they are the ones with carmel in the center.
