Milwaukee teen charged with intoxicated homicide
ELKHORN A Milwaukee teen remains in custody after a preliminary hearing Friday afternoon in Walworth County Court.
Donovan N. Espinosa, 17, is charged with homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle, possession of marijuana and carrying a concealed weapon, according to court documents.
He is in Walworth County Jail on a $100,000 bond, according to jail records.
Espinosa ran a stop sign at 3:45 a.m. March 10 while driving south on Bowers Road in LaFayette Township. Espinosa struck a pickup truck driven east on Highway 11 by Dean A. Schumacher, 41, of Delavan.
Schumacher was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to court documents:
Espinosa told police he was driving from Milwaukee to California when the crash occurred. He admitted to police he had smoked marijuana at 10 p.m. March 9.
Police found a homemade knife in Espinosa’s backpack and a baggie of marijuana in his pants pocket.
Espinosa is scheduled for arraignment at 1:00 p.m. Thursday.

I didn't realize knives were so expensive compared to pot and booze. Was he practicing making shanks to get ready for prison then?

I rather doubt that the intoxication charge would be brought to court without some admissable evidence of such behavior.

He admitted to smoking pot at 10pm the PREVIOUS day? There's NO WAY that at 3:45am the next day, marijuana would have *anything* to do with this crash.
