School board denies $100,000 claim
JANESVILLE The Janesville School Board on Monday denied an injury claim from a man who broke his leg on school property last October.
According to the claim, Andrew Lysak of 6524 N. Lazy River Road, Janesville, broke his leg while walking down the steep slope of the Craig High School bowl after a soccer game.
The district knew or should have known of the danger from the grassy slope, the claim states, and should have made the area safe.
The claim said Lysak and his wife, Hanna Rzewolska-Lysak, would settle for $50,000 each plus legal costs. Those amounts are said to cover Lysak’s past and future medical bills, pain, suffering, loss of wages and future disability and Rzewolska-Lysak’s loss of companionship and wages.
The couple now have the option of taking their claim to court.

Will the JG be following the story if it does indeed go to court? Or will it follow the tried and true method of "If it's the little guy getting hammered, don't print it"
