— The Mercy Health System diabetes education program is now offered at Mercy Clinic East.

The certified program offers patients, and their families, self care skills that promote better management of treatment regimens.

Nurse-Educator for Mercy Health System, Lynne Hartwig, says 24 million people suffer from diabetes, and many of them have not yet been diagnosed. Dr. Timothy Reid says "we are excited to extend this program to Mercy Clinic East, where we can offer more options and convenience sites for out patients."

The American Diabetes Association recognizes the diabetes education program offered by Mercy Health System.
