— Two seek the opening for Turtle Town Board chairman.

Current Chairman Dan DeLong does not seek re-election.

Former Chairman Jim Brandenburg lost to DeLong in 2007. His challenger, Roger Anclam, seeks his first public office.

Roger B. Anclam

Address: 7928 S. Butterfly Road, Beloit.

Age: 52

Job: Retired after 33 years at the General Motors Truck Plant, Janesville.

Education: Graduated from Delavan-Darien High School in 1974

Community service: Has served as chairman and member of the Turtle Planning Commission since 2000. Has served on 4th of July and boundary committees.

Elected posts: None

Major campaign issues: "Provide leadership that is welcome, responsive and accountable to citizen concerns and issues; explore and act on all viable measures to stop any further annexation; maintain the town's infrastructure, continue to provide high quality services in the highway, fire and police departments while keeping taxes as low as possible."

Age: 66

Job: Retired in 1996 from the Rock County Sheriff's Office

Education: Graduated from Milton College in 1978 with a bachelor's degree in criminal science

Community service: None

Elected posts: Turtle Town Board chairman, 1997-2007; Turtle Town Board supervisor, 1978-79.

Major campaign issues: "To keep Turtle Township as rural as possible. To work for the future for generations to come. To provide good services to our residents and still keep the tax base low. Most of all to listen to the people and keep Turtle a family place to live."
