More improvements coming to Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport

ROCK COUNTY The design phase of projects slated for the Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport in 2009 will get underway soon.
Governor Jim Doyle released funding for the upgrade or replacement of an apron near the terminal and a taxiway that runs parallel to a runway.
The Federal Aviation Administration is paying for $90,547. The state and Rock County will each pitch in another $2,383.
Airport Director, Ron Burdick, says the design work will start soon and the construction will probably take place this fall. He says in this economy, he's happy to see any amount of funding.
