Dott's 13 strikeouts spark UW-Whitewater baseball
Aaron Dott notched 13 strikeouts to lead UW-Whitewater to a 6-2 victory over Otterbein College in nonconference baseball on Wednesday at Port Charlotte, Fla.
In notching their third win over Otterbein on its Florida trip, Whitewater scored six runs on 12 hits, including six doubles.
Whitewater trailed 2-0 after two innings, but the Warhawks scored single runs in the third and fourth innings to tie it a 2-2.
In the sixth, Whitewater took the lead for good, 3-2, when Sam Petrasko reached on an error, moved to third on Tom Kuhlmann’s double and scored on Kevin Zalnis’ ground ball.
Dott pitched eight innings, allowing two runs on six hits. Jason Hooper cleaned up, tossing a hitless ninth inning.
Whitewater (6-3) plays a Minnesota Twins team today in Fort Meyers.
