UW-Whitewater dominate non-conference games

— UW-Whitewater pounded out a combined 25 hits and 22 runs in sweeping Wellesley College and Southern Maine in nonconference softball here Tuesday.

Whitewater (7-1) defeated Wellesley, 9-1, and Southern Maine, 13-0.


Jessica Stang allowed one hit and notched 11 strikeouts in five innings to halt Wellesley, while Stacy Bahr blanked Southern Maine on three hits in the five-inning game.


Amy Gahl and Suzanne Gersich had perfect 3-for-3 plate performances against Wellesley (2-3), while Haley Krueger went 2-for-2 with a double and Darcy Foreman was 3-for-3 for Whitewater against Southern Maine (1-7).
