— Four people are vying for three seats on the Fontana Village Board.

The race features two incumbent trustees, completing their fourth and third terms, and two political newcomers—one an engineer and one a trading consultant.

Timothy Olson

Age: 34

Address: 856 Trails End, Fontana.

Job: Electromagnetic compatibility engineer at DLS Electronic Systems in Genoa City.

Education: Graduate of Big Foot High School; bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from ITT Technical Institute, Milwaukee.

Community service: Vice commander of American Legion Post 102.

Elected posts: None.

Major campaign issue: "We need a strong police, fire and rescue and public works departments. I'm not totally bought on joining the Walworth and Fontana (departments) ...Without seeing the numbers, I don't know if it's really going to help out Fontana. … I can't make a total up or down on it."

George Joseph Spadoni Jr. (I)

Age: 52

Address: 540 Oak St., Fontana.

Job: Human resource management.

Education: Associate's degree in business administration from Thornton Community College in South Holland, Ill.; bachelor's degree in business administration from Western Illinois University in Macomb, Ill.; master's degree in business administration from DePaul University in Chicago.

Community service: Member of the Big Foot Lions Club; president of the Little Chiefs Basketball Club.

Elected posts: Fontana village trustee, 1997-2003, 2007-present.

Major campaign issue: "Ensuring that we continue the pattern of 'slow growth' in this community by allowing one new subdivision every seven to eight years. If we fail to attract new full-time residents and children to this community, we will become 'just another resort community,' which I believe we are not."

Merilyce "Micki" O'Connell (I)

Age: 70

Address: 611 Agaming Road, Fontana.

Job: Retired from the brokerage business.

Education: Studied economics at Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, Ill.

Community service: Member of the Indian Hills Homeowners Association, 1976-present.

Elected posts: Fontana village trustee, 2003-present.

Major campaign issue: "If elected for another two-year term, I would like to see the village complete the lakefront projects, install lighting along Fontana Boulevard and oversee the renovations of the Lake Geneva Marine Company. I also will continue to seek joint services and consolidation with the village of Walworth."

Thomas M. McGreevy

Age: 38

Address: 897 Tarrant Drive, Fontana.

Job: Trading consultant

Education: Graduate of Big Foot High School; bachelor's degree from UW-La Crosse.

Community service: Member of the Fontana Plan Commission, 2006-present; member of the Country Club Estates Homeowners Association, 2004-present.

Elected posts: None.

Major campaign issues: If elected, McGreevy said he would like to upgrade the village's infrastructure and help keep the local elementary school a viable place to learn. He also said he wants to maintain "the quiet village atmosphere" he's come to know in his lifetime of living in Fontana.
