— The race for Lake Geneva District 2 alderman features an incumbent, who is completing her first term in office, and the man who held the office for the previous three terms.

M.L. “Mac” McBride

Age: 54

Address: 205 E. South St., Lake Geneva.

Job: Retired.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration from Carthage College in Kenosha.

Community service: Football coach at Badger High School, Lake Geneva; former volunteer firefighter with the Lake Geneva Fire Department.

Elected posts: Lake Geneva alderman, 2000-07.

Major campaign issue: “The city needs to start moving forward, and the city needs its leadership to prepare it for the future, and that’s not being done with the present city council.” McBride said he not only would bring six years of experience as an alderman but also open mindedness and “the ability to be a team player.”

Mary Jo Fesenmaier (I)

Age: 45

Address: 633 Sue Ann Drive, Lake Geneva.

Job: Library resource teacher at Eastview Elementary School in Lake Geneva and Star Center Elementary School in Pell Lake.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in education from Alverno College in Milwaukee; master’s degree in education from UW-Whitewater.

Community service: Member of the Lake Geneva Plan Commission, 2005-07.

Elected posts: Lake Geneva alderman, 2007-present.

Major campaign issue: “In Lake Geneva, we need a representative with the vision to retain the small-town charm that is characteristic of our beloved community while balancing our need to grow through well-planned development. We need an alderman who will attend meetings, ask questions and research the issues by using contacts inside and outside the city.”
